On the Training of General
Practitioners in the UK
|
In a survey of 304 general practitioners in the UK, 39% had not received any training on the care of individuals with autism. Of those who did receive training, almost 40% did not find the training useful. They also reported having little confidence in their ability to provide care for their patients with autism.
It is important to mention that the Autism Research Institute offers, in joint providership with the Cleveland Clinic, complimentary AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ to physicians and the general public on gastrointestinal, medical, metabolic, and neurological comorbidities in autism.
